Dear friends,

What an amazing testimony of how God is working in the lives of one family. Since Karanin, the eldest brother who was the 1st in the family to come Christ, God continues to build up His story amongst Karanin’s family. Karanin to Karano to Seakna to Sitha to their mother to Sithiang to Mesa and now to Lada.

Lada believed that it was God’s providence to be given an opportunity to work at the Pepper Enterprise. After he had repeatedly rejected Christ, he realized that he was so ‘trapped’ in life. By the grace of God, he realized that God has not given up hope in in him.

At the plantation Lada is the supervisor. There, he learned God’s Word regularly and was powerfully influenced by the Crossroads graduates working alongside him.

We praise the Lord for His faithfulness. Indeed, a mighty God is our fortress, and therefore, He is our hope. Please pray for Lada’s spiritual growth and for all the Crossroads co-workers managing the farm: Chenda, Karano, Potra, Bora, Mesa, and Pheaktra, that they will be sensitive to the Spirit’s guidance in helping to meet the workers’ physical and spiritual needs.

Overcoming the Strongholds: The Pillars have moved      into a new premise in His timing.  It is ideal for ministry use and ministry expansion.  The building is near a local University and has a capacity for 36 residents with sufficient space for meeting purpose.

The landlord has great favor for us and was willing to lease us with an ideal rental amount. However, his attitude took a complete change after we have moved into the new premise. Unbelievable misunderstanding began to happen which has affected the relationship badly. Pls pray for His grace and mercy for us.

We believe that there is a spiritual warfare going on as the owner is a very devout worshipper of a few gods. He lives on the ground floor. Pls pray for Rathana to have wisdom and discernment in leading the believers to experience God in this time of trials.

Many blessings,

David Ooi.

Dear friends,

We are so thankful to the Lord as we are being integrated into the body of Christ in Seattle. During this period of adjustment, we have been focusing on God, seeking after Him … learning who God really is. We continue to find comfort, peace and confidence in Him.

COMPOUND NAME OF GOD MEANING OF NAME
Jehovah – Jireh I am God who provides a substitute for your salvation. [Gen.22:14]
Jehovah – Rophe I am God who heals you. [Ex.15:26]
Jehovah – Nissi I am God who leads to victory over immortality. [Ex.17:15]
Jehovah – M’Kaddesh I am God who sanctifies you. [Lev.20:7-8]
Jehovah – Shalom I am God who gives you peace. [Judges 6:24]
Jehovah – Tsidkenu I am God who teaches you justice. [Jer.23:5-6]
Jehovah – Rohi I am God who cares for your daily needs. [Ps.23:1]
Jehovah – Shamma  I am God who is there [Exe 48:35]

At the end of last year, we were led to seek the Men of Peace in Preah Vihear Province, the heart area and concentration of Kuy people in Cambodia. We were led to Tumpieng Tum where we went out 2-by-2. The Lord revealed Himself and pursuant to that, many believed in Christ. Subsequently, with tremendous persecution, 6 were baptized just before Christmas. We have made a video of our journey there to witness the amazing work the Lord has done:

Please continue to pray for the young church and the Xroads press on to nurture them.

Many blessings,

David.

Dear friends,

We arrived Seattle, WA on 10th Jan safely. Amazingly, as we had prayed for    the immigration office to be ‘blinded’ thus enabled us to enter with ease, the Lord had caused him not to question on our stay abroad. The officer actually greeted us warmly and immediately granted us entry into US without much question. Praise the Lord.

Moonjung then went over to the east coast by herself to bring back all our winter clothing which we had stored up with her mom. She was away for about a week while David and kiddos experienced snow in Seattle.               The Lord knows our children’s need as He enabled them to settle in well.

We want to express our thankfulness to the Lord who has manifested His grace and mercy through the body of Christ at ECC Seattle. They have indeed gone beyond themselves to provide us with housing and transportation, and they had even enabled us to survive the recent snowstorm by supplying foods and our needs. Against all odds, a brother was successful in driving Moonjung back from airport in the snow when most transportation had ceased operation.

While we are now on furlough, we are serving at Evangelical Chinese Church of Seattle, WA. We will also take time, as the Lord leads, to ‘Review & Preview’ Xroads ministry and mission work in South East Asia thus far. Pls pray for wisdom and discernment as we are integrating into the body of Christ at ECC.

Many will think that US is totally opposite to where we had been serving the past 11 yrs. Yet, as we are passionate in developing Christ Centered disciples, Kingdom values will supersede whether US or Cambodia. We ask that our hearts and minds would continually be renewed and transformed that Heaven would invade earth wherever we are.

Many blessings,

David, Moonjung, Joey and Rohaam Ooi.

P.S We shall continue to update you Xroads ministry and our journey. We will need your constant prayer and support as ever.

Dear friends,

By faith, 20 people were baptized to live not by the ‘rules of men’ but by the grace of God. We praise the Lord for their commitment to love, walk and serve the Lord all their life. Pls pray that the new believers will be quickly integrated into the body of Christ thus be empowered for His use.
This is now the final week for us to wrap up and to leave Cambodia for at least a year. For our furlough, we see that it has been timely. 2012 is a year which we are ready to witness His greatness manifested through Xroads and our absence, we believe, will give unto Him all glory and honor.
In admission, we are stressed out and it is taking a toll on us. Saying goodbye is never easy. At Xroads we have been one family indeed. We pray wisdom and for His grace for His yoke is light and easy. We pray that we all will put our trust in God.
Lastly, we will appreciate prayer for David. Entering US has always been an issue due to immigration matters. The last 2 entries had been disastrous. Pls pray that His angel will go forth before us to facilitate smooth entry for all of us. I will pray that the angel will ‘blind’ the eyes of the immigration officer from the previous record on David that is reflected in his computer.
We will be in Seattle on Tuesday about noon. We will keep you informed thereafter.
Many blessings,
David.

Dear friends,

The Xroads had its Open House and Christmas celebration yesterday. Friends were invited to know more about the Xroads ministry while they were also presented with the gospel. Pls pray for the seed that has been sown that some will bear good fruit. With this, we have wrapped up year 2011.
Our family will leave Cambodia in 2 weeks time. We pray that our remaining time will be of encouragement and of wrapping up relationships in Cambodia. We entrust the ministry to the leadership team believing that they will be faithful thus be workmen approved by God.
We want to thank you once again for your prayer and support and we look forward to a new year that our journey will bringforth His blessing through our fellowship and partnership.
Many blessings,
David.

Dear friends,

We will be leaving to the Kuy village in Preah Vihear to conduct baptism on Friday, 23 Dec. 2011. Since their conversion over the last month, there has been severe persecution. The opposition has also spread false rumor about us and our faith that has caused some believers to back off. We will need prayer as we visit to strengthen their faith.
Xroads will celebrate His birth by inviting their friends for an Open-House cum celebration. Pls pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit that the church will proclaim His name through the Xroads ministry. We trust that the Lord will do great work that will bring glory to Himself.
Lastly, we want to thank you for the partnership in year 2011. Thank you for coming alongside us in many ways all the time. Though this has been a very challenging year, it is yet the most exciting ever. We look forward to year 2012 with great anticipation that He will cause greater work for many to witness and believe in Him.
Blessed Christmas,
Oois.

…and after the students have tasted miracles recently, they have wanted more. We meet every morning at 6 am to pray and intercede for His grace and mercy that many people will believe in Jesus, if not, to hear His proclamation of peace for  all on earth.

Last week, we were talking about sin (hamartia) – missing the target or taking the wrong road. Hence, we all fall short of the glory of God. Interestingly, some non-believing students responded to the message of salvation. During the Sunday service, they proclaimed to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. With our recent encounter at Kuy village in which more than 18 people believed in Jesus, we are witnessing some very interesting breakthroughs the Lord is enabling in the end days. Please pray that we will remain diligent and faithful in witnessing for Jesus.

Please pray for the Crossroads ministry. We praise the Lord for the leadership team. The trust and commitment level within the team is very commendable. This is certainly a gift from the Lord despite Cambodia’s historical background. Please pray for His protection that the leadership will remain faithful to its calling as they lead and manage the ministry forward.

What do we want for Christmas? ‘What I want for Christmas is my two front-teeth …’. Well, what we want for Christmas is a breakthrough that the Crossroads Church is passionate for World Evangelization. We have His revelation but we also realize that His work in us is far from completion. Yet, we trust that upon His coming again, we will finish Rebuilding and Restoring Cambodia.

Many blessings,

David Ooi.

Dear friends,
Acts 4:29-31 And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
We got into Tumpieng Tum on 18th Nov evening. Immediately, we began to sense opposition from some fraction of the community. In a week’s time after we have found many Men of Peace, Satan has inflicted confusion amongst some leaders. While the police took the opportunity to extort money from us, there were also people with authority who asked us for Government approval of our ministry at this village.
We turned to God and discerned of His direction. Acts 4:29-31 came into mind and we proceeded as according to our plan – to follow up on the new believers and gathering people to worship as a body of Christ. We praise the Lord for His protection and grace and mercy for by His providence, we are amazed that we have found the place of worship at this village and a body of Christ who worship. It seemed that God has placed with us the people He wanted us to convey His words.
Pls pray for the spiritual growth of this church as we will be visiting them to strengthen them from time to time. Pls pray for Huey(pic color above) and this church that God will use them to be instrumental in community transformation at Tumpieng Tum village.
Beside the church planting work, we have also investigated a land of 100 hectares available for sale directly from the government. This land will be utilized to grow pepper thus further the Kuy ministry and dormitory ministry in Phnom Penh. Upon approval by our consultants, we will proceed to purchase the land according to what the Lord has willed for us – To Rebuild and Restore Cambodia. We ask that you will pray for us for His guidance and protection, and for the funds available to purchase the land.
Lastly, we pray for rest and a time of refreshing with the Lord. Last 3 months has been intensive with so many things that have happened. We are feeling the Elijah Depression effect. We trust that His grace is sufficient for us as we keep focus on the cross.
Many blessings.

Dear friends,

This is a brief video on our last trip to Tumpieng Tum, Preah Vihear:

We are back at Tumpieng Tum for follow up. We will be worshipping with them daily from today till Monday hoping that they will keep meeting together to spur one another in their faith.
Pls pray for the following:
a. That the Lord will lead us to the Men of Peace He has called that we can lead them to salvation;
b. Building up their faith individually;
c. Establish worship in their lives daily individually and corporately;
d. We will be reaching out to 100 children. May the truth be sowed in them.
e. Pls pray for journey mercy home on Monday.
I am also viewing a 100 hectares land in PV. May the Lord grant us insight, wisdom and discernment for decision making. This land is part of our vision for Kuy people. May the Lord grant us a sign/affirmation while we are on the land.
